“The ‚fine English behaviour’ it is not, what these three ladies tell about one another”

A group of individuals come together. The protagonists move within an area of tension, between ambivalence and escalation, from playing with the rules to extreme confrontation. A humorous bittersweet drama, that lets reality submerge into the surreal.
Choreographer Nicki Liszta examines the formation of relationships in an observed situation. Where are the boarders of the bearable? Whether as performers pretending, or reality performing, the content revolves around the social interaction between the protagonists, and the everyday dramas that enfold.
“zwischen häuten” is a piece of dance theatre, which satirically looks at these everyday dramas. An alternative soap opera, exaggerated, light-hearted and affectionate; poking fun at an over-dramatic reality and a multi-coloured bunch named relationship.

Winner of the Stuttgarter Theaterpreis 2008
On the 07.12.2008 “zwischen häuten” received the Stuttgarter Theaterpreis, for the best dance production in Baden Württemberg between 2007 and 2008. The prize of 6.000 was presented by Susanne Laugwitz-Aulbach, director of the Kulturamt Stuttgart. The motivation of the Jury:
“The Jury presents the Stuttgarter Theaterpreis 2008 to a production full of fresh ideas, that do not hide from controversial emotions or situations.
We were impressed by the intelligent use of live music and space, the appropriate casting of performers and the skilful integration of video. In her first major production the choreographer successfully presents the every-day mini-dramas of human relationships, free from pretension and full of humour and surprise. The performance manages to create and maintain a tension that is held from the first minute of the production until the last.
The Jury have decided to give the Stuttgarter Theaterpreis 2008 to a young choreographer, to encourage the continuation of her promising work. The “Stuttgarter Theaterpreis 2008” goes to Nicki Liszta for ZWISCHENHÄUTEN.”
